Of bags and such

So, T is now his very own guild master after a week long debaucle on how his old and not-so-old guild was being pretty tyrranical towards him and his other friends who play WoW too. He’s made up guild schedules and we even now have our own bank and banker. It’s like managing a whole company.

I wonder what it is with me and dating alpha males.

Almost all of my ex-boyfriends lead a group, or had some responsibilities toward a large number of people. There are some downsides to it though, when all that stuff take centre-stage and  I find myself just keeping the company of chores and work and the other shit that preoccupy my time. I have a feeling that I better get out of my tendency to just put everyone ahead of me and just go do what I want. I guess I have to stop feeling that I am merely an inconsequential accessory to other people’s lives.

Anyway, I have a bigger gripe than that today. Laptop bags. There’s just NOTHING in the shops that appeal to me, and I don’t see how they could appeal to any other member of the female species. Disgusting is the word that comes to mind when I check out the range of carriers and haversacks for the precious computers. Ugh. Black, cheap ass looking buckles and straps that look like they could rip a hole in your skin or just look plain tacky/nerdy/overly otaku. YUCKS.

Even Fabrix doesn’t offer me what I am looking for even though they do customization.

I want something different, something I can stuff T’s 15″ PowerBook and my pink Logitech mouse and my beat-up iPod and my cigarettes and my make-up kit and my wallet and also compartments for my keys and lighter and anything important to me. Something that actually looks good and goes with what I want to wear when I am out trapezing the crazy concrete jungle WITHOUT looking like a freaking student or a lame-ass nerd. And something that isn’t terribly BUTCH.

So this year’s project would be to design and build my own haversack/slings/pouches/whatever. I have even thought up of a name to give my future bag design company which will specialize in meeting the needs of female gamers and technophiles. People like me will not be relegated to the doomsday of being an unfashionable dood.
